Stay tuned….
We have now had a chance to review all the new maps. Those NEW MAPS that apply and can be used for Team Death Match which we are considering for Season3 are:
I know there are other NEW maps that can be played as TDM.
What ultimately will determine which maps we will use is still too earlier. Another consideration is if we do TDM 2v2 or TDM 4v4. Map size is important as to the # of players on it while playing.
Remember, that we still have in the mix the following maps. I hope to be able to blend in the new maps in with some of our previous and reliable old maps:
Don’t be surprised if we chose to remove one or a few of these older maps for newer ones.
how can this impact QuakeNight in future tournaments it may hold.
First off, let me say, this is my first attempt to digest potential scenarios that may unfold here and there is no guarantee some of this may come to light.
Right off the bat, most of you already know that currently, there are three (3) levels of players: Standard, Premium, and Pro.
For any upcoming tournaments, we now have to consider how we :
What I know right now is a PRO (which is the current highest paying level) can invite up to 3 standard level players into a server that PRO player creates.
I am not here to promote or discourage anyone from “buying quakelive service.” What I am stating is this; If players decide they want to compete in tournaments, the simplest answer will be “buy a premium or pro account.” You do not have too, but know you may be limited in many ways as to which events you can play in ranging from Duel, CTF, TDM, Clan Arena, or even Freeze Tag.
We will continue thinking this thru. If you have any comments or ideas, please share them with me. I am open to all.
As I previously stated, we hope to start a “QN TDM” Season 3 in September 2010.
Details have yet to be finalized.

I expect everyone is enjoying a bit of a break from the QLive competitive scene.
If demand exists after Quakecon (as I’ve been asked), I will consider a Season3 after August 2010.
More on this later. Get out and enjoy some sun for now.

PRO Finals winners = DFM
DFM wins best of 5 maps vs Q2, in 4 maps. You can see the Results here . Great games played and if you desire, you can download the demos right here . I also uploaded the ADMIN SPEC demos POV.
Quakenight’s TDM 2v2 Season 2 was expected to start in January. I held off as some of you remember in trying to read the interest level of the QLive TDM community. We began the end of February.
Season 2 was different from Season 1 in the total number of divisions created and the total number of teams fielded. These two parameter changes were a good thing.
Simply put, I believe from the many comments I received, we succeeded.
I want to give a big thanks to my support who stepped in for me when I was unavailable. These fellas made sure you noticed no change, even when we scrambled in the final minutes of match play. I hope you all also tell them so… they are (in no order):
I big salute to QL.TV , Anh_TV , D|TastyPie of QuakeNight site, and iD for QLive. Thanks to all for making Season 2 enjoyable, fun, and worth doing.
